The Marine Raider Foundation provides benevolent support to active duty and medically retired Marine Raiders and their families\, as well as the families of Raiders who have lost their lives in service to our Nation. The Foundation aims to meet needs unmet by the government with an emphasis on building personal and family resiliency and supporting the full integration of wounded\, ill\, injured\, and transitioning Raiders\, their families\, and MARSOC’s Gold Star families. \nWelcome to the 2024 Tideland 24 Ultramarathon \nIf you have any questions that are not covered\, please contact: Jason LeDoyen at Tideland24@gmail.com \nThe Tideland24 is a fully supported 24-hour ultramarathon in the Croatan National Forest. \nAll proceeds benefit the Marine Raider Foundation. To date\, we have raised over $29\,000. We’ll do everything possible to support you as you work to achieve your goals on this beautiful course. \nParticipants will cover the scenic Tideland National Recreation Trail\, a USATF certified 1.37779-mile loop\, as it meanders through the White Oak River and its adjoining salt marsh and forest. The course includes various bridges (aluminum and wooden) and a well-groomed trail consisting of crushed gravel with minimal trip hazards and elevation gain. \nAwards will be presented for Top 3 Male and Female\, as well as Top Active Duty\, performances and all who complete 100 miles will receive a 100 Mile belt buckle. \nIn 2024\, we are pleased to again partner with the MILES FOR MARSOC Community Athlete Program. By running to support the Marine Raider Foundation you will raise funds to support Raiders and their families\, and we’ll waive your entry fee. The memorial march was to mark a page in history that included many native sons and affected many families in the state. In 1992\, White Sands Missile Range and the New Mexico National Guard joined in the sponsorship and the event was moved to the White Sands Missile Range. \nSince its inception\, the Bataan Memorial Death March’s participation has grown from about 100 to about 9\,600 marchers. These marchers come from across the United States and several foreign countries. While still primarily a military event\, many civilians choose to participate in the challenging march. Participants get to choose between two courses: a 14.2-mile and a 26.2-mile course. \nMarchers participate in the Bataan Memorial Death March for many reasons: personal challenge\, the spirit of competition\, or to foster esprit de corps in their unit. Some march in honor of a family member or a particular veteran who was in the Bataan Death March or who was taken as a prisoner of war by the Japanese in the Philippines. \n\nWhy this event?\n\nThis event is not only unique\, but this challenge has a category for everyone! You can do the full 26.2 mile marathon route\, the 14.2 mile Honorary March\, either with a weighted with a ruck or without! \n\nHow will we train?\n\nWe will issue a training plan to all team members which will be available by the first week of January. DESCRIPTION:Marines from the Force Reconnaissance and Raider community and others will honor the 201 who have fallen in service to our nation through a motorcycle ride from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune to Arlington National Cemetery and back to Camp Lejeune. The mission is designed to raise maximum awareness of the sacrifices of those killed in action or in training and raise funds to support charities who assist the community\, its families and survivors. \nThe Recon Raider Remembrance Ride will be a convoy style operation conducted by veterans. Each participating motorcycle will represent a fallen Marine Raider or Reconnaissance Marine. Along the journey\, riders will pass through communities where some surviving family members reside to honor the fallen and pay respects to Gold Star families who shared in the sacrifice of our national defense. \nThe event is presented by Asymmetric Solutions\, a global leader in private special operations capabilities. Its team is comprised of combat-decorated\, highly reputable members of various special operations units\, elite government agencies and seasoned special operations law enforcement officers. Choose from a competitive 5K or 10K\, or the 3K Fun Paddle.\nEnjoy live entertainment\, a silent & live auction\, 50/50 drawing\, food & drinks\, and lunch provided to all registered paddlers.\nPaddle 4 Troops is a nonprofit organization geared toward supporting local veterans through a fun and competitive paddle race. The unique benefit when joining the Paddle 4 Troops family is that you may personally witness the effects of your donation\, whether it be time or money. 100% of proceeds go toward assisting veterans and their families. \nSCHEDULE \nSATURDAY\, SEPTEMBER 17\, 2022 \nSears Landing Boat Dock & Grill\n806 Roland Avenue\nSurf City\, NC 28445 \n8:30 AM – Registration Opens\n10:00 AM – 5K & 10K SUP Events Starts\nNOON – 3K Fun Paddle Starts \nSUP COURSE \nSears Landing Boat Dock & Grill\n806 Roland Avenue\nSurf City\, CN 28445 \nThe race will start at the docks behind Sears Landing\, leaving the canal toward the intercoastal waterway. Depending on the currents and winds\, the paddlers will either head north or south. The turn around for all races will be designated by the Paddle 4 Troops boat.
