SUMMARY:Recon Raider Remembrance Ride
DESCRIPTION:Marines from the Force Reconnaissance and Raider community and others will honor the 201 who have fallen in service to our nation through a motorcycle ride from Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune to Arlington National Cemetery and back to Camp Lejeune. The mission is designed to raise maximum awareness of the sacrifices of those killed in action or in training and raise funds to support charities who assist the community\, its families and survivors. \nThe Recon Raider Remembrance Ride will be a convoy style operation conducted by veterans. Each participating motorcycle will represent a fallen Marine Raider or Reconnaissance Marine. Along the journey\, riders will pass through communities where some surviving family members reside to honor the fallen and pay respects to Gold Star families who shared in the sacrifice of our national defense. \nThe event is presented by Asymmetric Solutions\, a global leader in private special operations capabilities. Its team is comprised of combat-decorated\, highly reputable members of various special operations units\, elite government agencies and seasoned special operations law enforcement officers. Foundation ambassadors banded together to raise charitable donations through building awareness of the Marine Raiders and their participation as the newest organization of Special Operations Command (SOCOM).  This group of ambassadors is led by Marine Raider Foundation Board Member Alex Martini.  The team includes Jamie Kline\, McCay Major\, Sam Overton\, Felipe Hermosillo\, and Tanner Tremaine.  In its first two years\, the Raider Invasion Golf Tournament raised over $195\,000 to help support the Marine Raider Foundation’s mission.  While 2020 saw the event cancelled due to COVID19\, the We will have a raffle\, live and silent auction\, and some unique instant buy items!  Tickets are FREE!  Rooster Tavern will be donating a portion of fixed menu sales to both organizations\, continuing their commitment to supporting the men\, women and families who serve our communities and our Nation.  Online bidding will be available for those of you unable to attend (please note that auction items including alcoholic beverages will not be available to ship). \nThe Mission2Alpha team has supported the Marine Raider Foundation since 2012\, hosting a very successful inaugural event that empowered the Foundation to assist the Marine Raider/MARSOC (Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command) community during a difficult summer where 8 brave men were killed in combat operations in Afghanistan during a very short 24-day period.  The then MARSOC Foundation stood up in May of 2012 and had very limited funds available\, and without the Mission2Alpha team (then operating as Free Wheel Foundation)\, would not have had the resources to help the families\, fellow Marines and Sailors of these heroes. \nRooster Tavern has supported the Marine Raider Foundation for the past few years through the annual Scottsdale Gun Club event.
