Happy Holidays from the Marine Raider Foundation

Happy Holidays from the Marine Raider Foundation

Happy Holidays from the Marine Raider Foundation!  We know this year has been one of “new norms” for everyone, but one thing has not changed – the tremendous outpouring of support from our community of donors and advocates.  For the Foundation, the mission did not come to a screeching halt when COVID19 began to impact our lives.  We continued to receive calls for assistance from the Marine Raider community.  While in-person events were deeply impacted and fundraising revenue was impacted, many of you stepped forward and committed to “Helping those who have sacrificed the most.”  The Foundation saw great success with its Marine Raider Foundation 100-Mile Summer Sundry Challenge, raising over $112,000 over three months and reiterating the strength and generosity of the Foundation’s friends and allies.  Every dollar raised this year keeps the Foundation focused on meeting its mission, namely, to be the first call when help is needed within the Marine Raider community.

We are very excited to share our latest videos that shares stories of how your support of the Foundation has made an impact in the lives of Marine Raiders and their families.  We wish to thank Marissa, Erika, Michael, Kelli, Josh, JD, and Derek for taking time out of their schedules to share their stories with the talented team at Elevate Weekly, who crafted the final video being debuted today.  Your donations help Gold Star Families stay connected to the Marine Raider community while also honoring the service and sacrifice of their loved ones.  Marine Raiders who are wounded, ill or injured receive assistance so that they can fully focus on recovery and healing without added stressors and have access to the treatments and equipment needed for optimal health.  Raider families with health and welfare challenges are given access to medical care not covered by insurance, as well as funds for travel associated with medical procedures.  World War II Marine Raiders have access to ceremonies and events that celebrate their history and linkage to modern-day Raiders.  Overall, the entire Marine Raider community has a resource for enhancing resiliency at all levels – personal, professional, and family – thanks to your support.
