Staff Sergeant Braica was born February 9, 1990 in Sacramento, CA. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in July 2010. In October 2010, he attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, CA. Private First Class Braica attended Marine Combat Training (West) at Camp Pendleton, CA. In December 2010, Private First Class Braica was assigned to Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center where he was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal. Lance Corporal Braica was assigned to 1st Battalion, 4th Marines where he performed duties as an Intelligence Specialist.
In July 2011, Lance Corporal Braica deployed with 1st Battalion ,4th Marines while serving as an Intelligence Specialist, in support of the 31st MEU. In March 2013, Lance Corporal Braica was promoted to Corporal. That following April, Corporal Braica checked into Marine Aircraft Group 36 where he served as an Intelligence Specialist. Later that year, in August 2013, Corporal Braica was assigned to 1st Marine Air Wing as a marksmanship instructor. While serving there, he was promoted to Sergeant in April 2014. Upon completion of that assignment, he checked into Marine Aircraft Group 36 where he resumed his duties as an Intelligence Analyst.
In January 2015, Sergeant Braica checked into Individual Training Course as a student at Camp Lejuene, NC. Upon graduating Individual Training Course Sergeant Braica checked into Basic Language Course where he studied Indonesian. In April 2016, Sergeant Braica graduated Basic Language course with a 2/2 in his target language.
Upon completion of his entry level MOS training, Sergeant Braica checked into 1st Marine Raider Battalion, Bravo Company, Team 4 in May 2016. He served here as an Element Member. Upon arriving to the battalion, he almost immediately left for follow on schooling and graduated from Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA the same month. In November 2016, Sergeant Braica graduated MARSOF Network Operators Course.
In July 2017, Sergeant Braica deployed with Marine Special Operations Team 4 as an element member to the Philippines. Later that year, he received his promotion to Staff Sergeant in the month of November. In July 2018, SSgt. Braica graduated Military Free Fall School. In November 2018, he graduated MARSOF Technical Surveillance Course, and began Serving as an Element Leader.
SSgt. Braica died on April 14, 2019 during a training exercise using tactical vehicles.
SSgt. Braica’s personal decorations include Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.
